Finding love amid the horror - TV & Radio - Entertainment - theage.com.au

"ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON'S 1886 novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, the tale of a scientist who concocts a potion that separates the light and dark sides of the human psyche, is a work of literature deeply rooted in the horror genre. But actor James Nesbitt, the star of writer Steven Moffat's six-part drama, titled Jekyll, is not so sure.

"I think it's a love story," he says. "The key to (Jekyll's) journey is the love he has for his wife and the sense of loss he feels. We are fascinated by the notion of a dark side, and something within us that is suppressed, but at its heart this is a love story between a man and a woman."
